  • Heasandford Science Week

    Sun 19 Feb 2017

We are really excited to be holding our Heasandford Science Week beginning

Monday 27th February. Throughout this week your child will be taking part in a wide variety of scientific activities and experiments in school. To mark this celebration of science, we have invited   ‘FlashBang Science’ to join us. ‘Flash Bang Science’ is a fantastic bright mobile science lab. It is “hands on” practical science experimentation for primary school-aged children. The children literally walk into the lab environment, don their lab coats and goggles and become scientists for a session. The lab and workshop sessions are handled and managed by professional scientists teaching children in an exciting and enlightening way.

You can read more about them on http://www.flashbangscience.co.uk/.

We really would like all children to have the opportunity to develop their learning in this fun and exciting way.

The cost is £4.50 per child and we ask that you please send payment and the reply slip (below) in to school – in an envelope, clearly labelled.

We are all very excited about our Science Week in school! If your child has any scientific interests, or has been reading about science facts that interest them – please feel free to allow them time to record their learning in their Learning Journals, so we can celebrate them in class!

    Many thanks

    Mrs Roberts (Science subject leader)

  • Foundation Stage Yard and Garden

    Fri 17 Feb 2017

Staff in school are going to develop the Foundation Stage yard and garden to make it more accessible for the children to use. We would love our parents to help with this process. This could be from sending resources into school or using your skills to help dig, make and attach equipment in the yard and garden.

    Resources that we need are:

    • Pallets
    • Logs
    • Plant pots
    • Guttering
    • Planks of wood
    • Cable reels
    • Tarpaulin
    • Any natural materials
    • Tyres
    • Wood off cuts
    • Metal pans
    • Cutlery

If we have any offers of help, we will hold a meeting in school in March to go through plans of the yard and garden.

If you have any questions, please speak to myself, Mrs Sullivan or any of the EYFS staff.

    Thank you for your support

    Mrs L. O’Brien

    Foundation Stage Leader
