As part of our Burnley topic, Year 3 will be going on a tour of Burnley and the surrounding landmarks on Wednesday 3^rd May.  This tour will allow the children to investigate some of the key geographical features of the town they live in.

Our tour will include:

• Cliviger – to see the windmills
• Worsthorne – to investigate the village
• Crown Point – to walk across the moor lands to the Singing Ringing Tree
• Towneley Hall – to enjoy the gardens, eat lunch and learn about the history
• Turf Moor – a drive past to see the home of Burnley Football Club
• Pendle Hill – to enjoy a walk on the famous hill to gain a bird’s eye view of Burnley

The children will eat their lunch whilst at Towneley Hall and all children will be required to bring a packed lunch.  If your child usually has a school meal, a packed lunch will be provided for them.

The trip will cost each child £4.00 which will go towards the cost of the coaches – no spending money is required. We have to tell you that, under the schools charging policy agreed by the Governors …. “no-one will be discriminated against on the grounds of inability to pay. However, voluntary contributions will be invited and should these be insufficient then the activity would not take place”. A copy of the policy is available from school. Please send your child in suitable footwear and waterproof clothing.
