If you were an engineer in Burnley what would you do?

“If you were an engineer in Burnley what would you do?”

Class 3-2, 5-1, 5-2, and Year 6 have been chosen to part in an exciting engineering project in school and it would be fantastic if you could give them a great start by helping them think of some ideas.

Can you help your child to think of a problem that needs to be solved? Identify a problem and devise a solution to that problem. The problem they identify can be absolutely anything – getting out of bed in the morning, climate change, picking up litter, completing their homework, aspects of disability – whatever you think is a problem.

An engineer is coming into school to talk to the children and then the children will design a poster in class showing off their invention.

Every pupil will receive a Primary Engineer Leaders Award certificate. At least two entries per year group will be shortlisted to win a trophy and two inventions per year group will be selected as trophy winners plus a minimum of two entries per school will be on display at a public exhibition.

Your child can bring in some notes or designs to help them complete the project or just be ready with a great idea.
