Welcome to Early Years Foundation Stage!
EYFS – INDEPENDENT
We are learning to be INDEPENDENT in EYFS by doing things by ourselves and having a go.
In EYFS, children show they are being INDEPENDENT by:
- Emptying our own school bags
- Putting equipment away and tidying up after ourselves
- Zipping up our coats and hanging them up
- Leaving our parents happily
- Getting dressed and undressed for PE
- Choosing our own dinners and getting it ourselves
- Choosing our own resources and equipment
- Moving on to other tasks when we are finished
- Using our learning in the different areas on our own
- Thinking of our own ideas in the different areas
- Using the toilet and washing our hands
- Asking for help when needed
- Using our phonics to read and write on our own
- Talking to other children and adults in school
- Sharing and taking turns
- Managing our own feelings
